Maple Ridge Pool, Tennis Court and Pavilion Rules

TAny exceptions to these rules must be approved by the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors have the right to evaluate the rules and make temporary changes as they see fit. Any changes will be presented for approval by the membership at the next regularly scheduled meeting.

The Maple Ridge HOA is not responsible for loss or damage to any personal belongings or automobiles on the premises. All persons using the pool or tennis courts do so at their own risk.

 

Pool Rules

Hours

  • The pool season is approximately mid-May through the second weekend of September. Lifeguards are on duty weekends from Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend.

  • Pool hours are 11:00am to 10:00pm

  • During Swim Team season, swim team will have practice until 11:00am Monday-Thursday.

Admission

  • Only members in good standing and qualified guests shall be admitted to the pool.

  • All guests must be accompanied by a Maple Ridge Swim and Tennis member who is in good standing.

  • A guest is defined as a non-Maple Ridge resident. Residents from Maple Ridge may not come to the pool/courts as a guest. (They are invited to become Swim/Tennis members.)

  • More than 5 guests per member must have prior approval by a Maple Ridge board member, and the social director, if at a party.

  • Members must use their key fob to enter either gate.

  • Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or other responsible guardian.

  • Reservation requests for the pavilion must be done so via the Reservation Request form, which can be found on the Maple Ridge website. A $50 security deposit will be required to accompany all pavilion reservation requests.

 

Swimming Pool Safety

  • All activities deemed unsafe by the lifeguard are prohibited. No running, pushing, dunking, or causing undue disturbance in or around the pool area.

  • No glass containers or breakable objects are allowed inside the pool area.

  • Do not monopolize the time of the lifeguard on duty.

  • Lifeguards are NOT babysitters. Parents are responsible for the supervision and safety of their children at the pool.

  • All non-pool associated equipment such as tennis balls, are banned from the immediate pool area.

  • DIVING BOARD: One person allowed on the board at a time.

  • Board should be mounted by ladder only.

  • No hand stands or sitting on diving board.

  • Diver must wait for previous diver to swim pool-side before diving.

  • Hanging onto the board is not permitted.

  • Divers must dive straight out.

  • No diving from the side of the pool in less than 5 feet of water.

  • Bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards are not allowed inside the pool area.

  • Only children age 5 and under are permitted to use the wading pool.

  • Only lifeguards are allowed on lifeguard stand.

  • Closing of the pool will be at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty during periods of inclement weather.

 

Swim Team

  • The Maple Ridge Manta Rays Swim Team will have use of the pool facility for team practices and league meets.

  • Use of the pool for practices go from mid-May to Early July. The team will hold one intra-squad meet and host 3 league meets.  The schedule for practices and meets can be found on the Maple Ridge HOA website calendar.

  • Team practices are held Monday-Thursday mornings and will end by 11:00am along with 2 reserved evenings each week, 1 reserved evening for the Intra-squad meet and 3 reserved Thursday evenings for home meets. Please refer to the HOA website calendar for specific dates and times.

  • The pool will close at 4:00pm on the evenings of the Intra-squad meet and the 3 home meets.

All Maple Ridge members are invited to observe any meets and cheer on our Manta Rays!

 

Swimming Pool Health

  • It is recommended that everyone shower before entering the pool.

  • No member shall enter the pool area, or permit a child to do so while suffering from any contagious disease such as athlete’s foot, ringworm, lice, etc. NO open wounds or sores.

  • No spouting of pool water from mouth.

  • No urinating in the pool.

  • ALL Non-Potty trained children MUST wear a swim diaper while in the pool.

  • No pets are allowed in the pool area.

General Pool Rules

  • When pool closing is required for maintenance (i.e. adding strong chemicals) a sign will be posted on or near the main entrance gate.

  • Music must be kept at a volume that is respectful to others at the pool.

  • Profanity, improper behavior, intoxication and vulgarity are prohibited.

  • The pump room and upstairs area are off limits to unauthorized persons.

  • Tampering with security cameras is STRICTLY prohibited.

  • Members are expected to abide by and cooperate with the lifeguard’s decisions. Members are not to interfere with or reprimand the lifeguards. If a difference of opinion arises, please notify the Board of Directors.

  • Disciplinary action shall be at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty and the Board of Directors.

  • Any verbal or physical abuse to the lifeguards or other members and/or guests will result in the loss of pool privileges. Reinstatement of privileges will be at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

  • Members and guests will refrain from trespassing on the property after hours.

  • Any suggestions or questions regarding these rules shall be directed to the Pool committee or Board of Directors for consideration.

Please remember the Maple Ridge pool and its facilities belong to all the members of this community. We all deserve to have a clean, well maintained pool to enjoy. It is up to each and every member to make that a reality.
